Quick Policies

Textbooks may be returned within 10 days of the first day of class or 3 days from the purchase date, whichever is later.
A valid receipt is required, and items must be in their original condition.
Digital course materials are eligible for a refund within 14 days of purchase if they have not been accessed or redeemed.

Wait until after your first class meeting before opening or redeeming course materials. If your schedule changes, unopened materials are easier to return or exchange.

Key Information

Eligible financial aid funds can be used to purchase required course materials through the bookstore during approved spending periods.
Financial aid is applied to tuition and fees first before any remaining funds can be used for bookstore purchases.
Any eligible refund balance is issued after charges have been processed and aid has been disbursed.

When can I use my financial aid in the bookstore?

Financial aid purchasing periods vary each semester but typically begin 10 days before the start of the term. Visit the bookstore website for current dates and eligibility information.

What happens if I drop a class?

Before the add/drop date for the course, Kraken Ready charges are automatically adjusted when you add or drop classes. After the add/drop date no refunds are dispersed. Physical course materials must be returned within two business days after dropping a course.

Can I return digital course materials I purchased in the store?

Yes. Digital materials may be eligible for a refund if they have not been redeemed and the return request is made within 14 days of purchase.

When will I receive my refund?

Refund timelines vary by semester. If you have questions about financial aid refunds, please contact the Financial Aid Office for assistance.
